This latest offering from Furey is a motivational and empowering anthem with heavy influences from the genre of Celtic rock (including an infectious Celtic riff) ‘History’s lyrics focus on themes of empowerment, courage, and boosting morale in its listeners.
Musically, the track avoids being placed into a one genre: there’s elements of the classic rock, indie-folk, celtic influences throughout the single, which leaves it ultimately feeling like a well-crafted amalgamation of The Killers, Thin Lizzy and Horseslips.
Furey has achieved a great deal of success in his field as an artist and songwriter having previously achieved three Pure M Awards (Best Newcomer, Best Male Artist, and Best Irish Solo act) as well as the 2021 Hot Press Irish Music Awards’ Folk Artist of the Year.
