Her Songs For Him Presented By SLÄS Songwriting Camp

After the debut of SLÄS Songwriting Camp in 2021 was a thorough success, Her Songs For Him returned for their second year, again with no surprise of great success and changing the music industry as we know it. 

Presented by SLAS, Her Songs For Him is the first songwriting camp to be created for only female and non-binary musicians, songwriter and producers. The camp was created to give female and non-binary individuals a safe space to create and engage with others while making music. During this year’s camp, participants wrote songs for and together with established male artists and made lifelong bonds and connections. Thanks to a partnership with Sony Music Publishing, participants from across the UK, Europe, Asia and USA were all invited. 

The 2022 Her Songs For Him Songwriter Camp was hosted again in Stockholm in early October with support from Spotify’s equality initiative Equal, Export Music Sweden and Hotel Ruth, in collaboration with RMV Publishing. Taking part in the 2022 Her Songs For Him Songwriting Camp saw a range of songwriter-producers and artists including Tomoko Ida (Japan), Myra Granberg (Sweden)l, Janeva (Australia/USA), Kamara (Norway), Sophie Verdonk (Sweden), Emelie Hollow (Norway), Benjamin Ingrosso (Sweden), Levent Geiger (Germany), Degree (France), Maximilian (Denmark) and Omar Rudberg (Sweden). 

Concluding a successful week, the highlights of the songwriting camp kept flowing. 21 songs were finished during the camp and a party was thrown for the participants with partners from 

Spotify, Tiktok, STIM, Export Music Sweden, TEN, RMV, Sony Music and representatives from Germany, Poland, Denmark labels and publishing companies. With the participants describing the songwriting camp as the best they’ve been to, there were tearful goodbyes before all musicians had to head back to their home countries. With coverage from Vogue Scandinavia, the 2022 Her Songs For Him was the most successful camp they have hosted yet. 

By hosting this songwriting camp, Her Songs for Him have shone a light on the issues of gender equality within the modern music industry and helped bring awareness among industry professionals.
