Black Eddy ‘Repost’ – Review
Blackpool rockers Black Eddy have recently announced the release of their new album Home of the Mad and the Shameless. This 6 track EP sees the alternative rock group tackle sensitive topics such as mental health, social media and addiction and their lead single ‘Repost’ is the perfect taster of what this awesome band has to offer.
‘Repost’ is an ode to internet addiction that channels the energy of tumbling into a Web 2.0 Wonderland. The single lovingly satirises new-age pop culture. Speaking of their latest single the band stated: “With Repost we wanted to soundtrack the doom-scroll”
This is what makes this track such a good listen. It is not only melodically pleasing but also carries a message and makes listeners reflect introspectively.
Furthermore, what adds to this track is the instrumental. The kick is clean and punches through the mix, hitting every beat and the same can be said for the snare; it’s crisp and doesn’t get lost in the mix. The lead singer shows his skills as a highly skilled vocalist, as well as an excellent lyricist and a brilliant songwriter.
