Alan Mair takes his listeners on a historical journey with latest single ‘The Devils Porridge’
Readers of colour me stunned I have some new music coming your way that is going to blow your mind so strap in for an exciting journey.
Alan Mair is here with his bleak and thought-provoking new single ‘The Devils Porridge’ as he takes the listener on a journey throughout history.
‘The Devils Porridge’ is built around a rock attitude that Alan seamlessly radiates alongside a more melancholy guitar arrangement, perfectly accompanying the well thought through lyrics.
The single ropes the audience in and transports the listener to the story of Alfred Nobel and the overlooked working class Scottish heroes that kept the good fight up in World War 1.
The melancholy sense of dreariness that can be sensed in the backing instrumentation is reminiscent of the likes of Joy Division, however this sense of sombreness only exaggerates Alan’s gift for storytelling further.
Alan Mair shines a spotlight on these heroes that history forgot. Not one to forget his roots, the music titan employs his dynamic songwriting and electrifying musical talent to lift up the legacy of those so nearly left behind.
Now if you listen to this song and recognise Alan’s husky vocal tones, well you’d be spot on, as listeners will know Alan from his time is legendary rock band The Only Ones.
You can hear ‘The Devils Porridge’ on June 17th but for now be sure to check out some of Alan Mair’s other fantastic work linked below!
