Exciting breakthrough artist comes to Royal Opera Arcade with debut solo exhibition

Brian Parker is a name to keep an eye on in the art world as he presents his work of the last ten years in his first solo exhibition at the Royal Opera Arcade in London. To miss out on the opportunity to see Brian’s work up close would be regrettable considering the visual aesthetics that his paintings provide. Unlike a lot of contemporary art, Parker’s work does not care about how you interpret it or whether  emotional connection is made, but instead it focuses on the aesthetically pleasing through intense colours and linear precision.

 The colour layering, meticulous edges and attention to detail  mean that a final piece can take up to 12 weeks to achieve.

Subject matters of Parker’s art include a variety of differing viewpoints from the everyday overlooked objects, such as the clothes in his wardrobe, beautifully lit up by the streams of sunlight highlighting the shades and colours to the subtle beauty of Japan, to the classic style and uniqueness of the London Underground.  Bringing such attention to detail and boldness in these subject matters is extremely striking and makes one appreciate the beauty in our day to day lives. Another important inspiration in the artist’s choice of subject matter is his passion for dance. The love of dance is apparent in his Dance Collection, where the paintings vibrancy of colour and movement of form almost allow us to hear the  music and feel the party on the canvas!

Brian Parker’s Solo Show – ‘The Journey So Far – It’s All About Me’ will run from Monday 7th October – Saturday 12th October 2019. (Private View Tuesday 8th October 2019)  at the Royal Opera Arcade Gallery, 5b Pall Mall, 1 & 2 Royal Opera Arcade, London SW1Y 4UY.
