Introducing Amey St. Cyr

You know that feeling where you hear an artist that sounds so familiar but you can’t quite place them? We guarantee that you’ll experience that exact feeling when you first hear Amey St. Cyr. And it is probably because you have heard her before, just not as a solo artist. Back in the 90’s she worked alongside acts huge such as Thompson Twins’ in Babble; Baby Ford and Audio Deluxe: both touring and in the studio. She was also in her own acid-jazz band, having supported Jamiroquai at their legendary gig at The Garage in the early 90’s.

After a 12 year hiatus due to post-natal depression and a spiraling substance abuse issue, ‘Wild World’ is Amey’s first break-out solo effort. She’s not strayed too far from her house roots, and the single draws on a retro house sound as a welcome reminder of the 90’s club scene. For her, this was a natural choice. Having sneaked out to clubs aged 14 whilst her mother was working on nightshifts, the excitement and energy of clubs as well as her love of dancing have left a lasting positive impression on Amey, which she hopes to transfer to a new generation with her single.

The track also reflects her positive outlook on life, with its upbeat vibe and uplifting lyrics intended to help listeners out of the doldrums in these challenging days of austerity, and perhaps best captured in her carefree self-shot video.
