REVIEW: Taking me Under – Ashley Iona

The new song ‘Taking Me Under’ from American born Australian artist Ashley Iona is a song about a real eclipse of the heart, with everything binded together with Ashley’s exceptional sense of melody. The song really allows her to show off some grand, arching vocal lines and  really reflects the tranquil and serene vibe of the video.  This really highlights Ashley’s unique sound with her original lyrics painting stunning scenes.

This track, which is the follow-up to her work with acclaimed lyricist John Bettis, is a confident, cohesive track which combines her instantly recognisable sound with that of Kevin Davy. The steady hand of well known mixer Justin Hergett has allowed her to make a winning formula of her distinctive vocals and melodies and beautiful backing sounds.

This song is a beautifully wistful pop song but also is uplifting at the same time, all in all it is a beautifully crafted track.
