All You Need to Know About Artillery Saints’ New Album “Glimpse”

Artillery Saints, the solo project of Aberdeen musician Ally McKenzie, is set to release the album “Glimpse” on January 26, 2026. The album was written, performed, and produced entirely by McKenzie at his home studio, expanding upon the electronic foundations of his previous work with new elements from woodwind, classical, and jazz traditions.

The project’s leading single, “A Flurry Of Furies,” arrives a week earlier on January 19 and highlights the record’s cinematic, urgent mood. Thematically, “Glimpse” explores concepts of alternative realities, personal and political what-ifs, and contemporary anxieties—an approach shaped by McKenzie’s lifelong passion for science fiction.

The album consists of eleven tracks, each tackling different subject matter: from the brutalist inspiration of “High-Rise Sun Tribe” to pointed satire in “Beauty Retreat,” from dream-inspired “Mice” to the protest anthem “Cortex The Killer.” Each song adds new layers and textures, making “Glimpse” McKenzie’s most varied work to date.

McKenzie holds a degree in English Literature and draws on broad influences, including art and film, as well as artists like Brian Eno and Roxy Music. “Glimpse” follows “Maneki-Neko” and “Fixed Grin Of A Wallpaper Star,” further defining Artillery Saints’ distinct voice in the electronic and avant-pop scene.
