NEWS: The Footlight District Are Here with a New Single and UK Tour!
Coming out of Chicago are siblings and alt-rockers, The Footlight District, and they’re here to bring you their new release – ‘Lightning’ – which came out September 9th. With rip-roaring vocals, immensely talented guitar riffs and memorable lyrics, this single is yet another fantastic addition to their already impressive discography – it certainly isn’t to be missed!
Born out of a collaboration with Band of Skulls’ Russell Marsden, whose creative experience in alt/rock spans decades, is set to add to The Footlight District’s already great sound, and with Enrico Bert from Mushroom Studios on production, it is promising to be a Footlight District single like we’ve never heard before.
So far, everything they’ve put out is pointing to success for the siblings – having put out music over the years that is full of quality in singles such as ‘War Paint’ and ‘Hush’, there’s nothing to suggest they’re going to be stopping anytime soon, with each release getting stronger and stronger. With a family connection and good music to boot, there is much more to come from The Footlight District.
Having previously fallen on hard-times, it’s great to see them thriving, having been made homeless in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, their journey up until now has relied on their togetherness, which has only grown as they’ve gotten older. With an inspiring backstory on their rise to success, The Footlight District are a band with as much heart as talent – with the bad times in the past, it seems like the only way is up for them.
With a new releasing in ‘Lightning’ having just dropped on September 9th, the band are about to kick-off a UK tour commencing on September 16th and ending with their final show on October 17th. With a plethora of good music, it’ll give any fan the chance to enjoy their discography live in the flesh. Bands like The Footlight District don’t come around often, so don’t miss this!
