Wavewulf ‘The North and The Sea’ – Review

Producer Wavewulf has recently released his new album The North and The Sea. The incredible 15 track album takes the listener on a journey through the Scandinavian and Arctic seas, with the help of dreamy synths and electronic keys.

The record kicks things off with ‘Open the Gate’, which showcases the records blueprint. Laid back vocals are paired with strong subby bass to bring grooves that sinks into the mind, before synths let loose that build huge walls of fuzz to create a catchy hook.

The lead single on the album is ‘Luft’ and this track is a perfect example of what makes Wavewulf so fantastic. The alt-pop influence streams through in Wavewulf production as he takes the listener on an auditory journey.

Speaking of his new record, Wavewulf said: The album was inspired by a recent trip to Iceland. At a time when I was feeling claustrophobic and disconnected, I found a sense of freedom in the power of the sea. Being alone, being together, being connected, being disconnected.”
