This Is What You Get By Linah Is!
Having taught herself the art of mastering her own tracks in the studio as well as performing and writing them, Linah is a quirky young woman who impresses her audience with an extraordinary amount of energy and talent. She supported American R&B artist Anthony Hamilton at the O2 in London in 2012 and is now ready to roll on to foster her own musical career.
Linah hasn’t always been as outgoing as she is now. As a child, she suffered from speech impediment and severe anxiety which gave her a hard time at school. The singer mostly kept to herself and was only ever really comfortable around animals. “I got picked on throughout my school years and had no friends for a good few years”, she says. The hardship of not fitting in eventually propelled her to start making music. Linah remembers: “I started to teach myself how to sing at eight years of age by mimicking all these fabulous singers I heard on the radio. I really found solitude and home in music as I didn’t fit in anywhere and I sure didn’t want to!” Her talent and artistic characteristics have always been visible. At school she was once voted “Most Likely To Make It As A Singer”.
