Spotlight: Don Laka
Afro Jazz legend Don Laka has returned with a critically acclaimed album ‘Afro Chopin’. The album is a rich mix of traditional jazz sensibilities, classical arrangements and more modern African techniques. All these genres are brought together to create the bubbling cauldron of creativity that in ‘Afro Chopin’.
With incredible album’s in his catalogue such as ‘Destiny’ and ‘Pyramids’, Don really had his work cut out to creat an album that matched the sheer brilliance and complexity of his previous work.
Lead single off the album Prelude No20 (Izulu) is the perfect introduction to the album. A many faceted song with nods to many genres, this track is pure brilliance and a must listen on the album.
